Dense Phase Ash Conveying

Historically, the accepted method to convey ash was in a high volume, low pressure airstream condition. While effective at material movement, these high velocities required a significant amount of energy and created excessive wear on the system.

The alternative technology preferred by the power industry is Dense Phase Conveying, which utilizes much smaller volumes of air at higher pressures and slower velocities. Doing so allows this system to convey high volumes of material in a solid plug condition, thereby reducing the wear on the system and conserving energy.

Dense Phase Ash Conveying Technology utilizing the Clyde Bergemann Delta Ducon Spheri Valve delivers exceptional performance and reliability in the most demanding environments.

These systems feature:
  • High availability and long operating life
  • 1,000,000+ cycles between seal replacement
  • Low maintenance
  • Simple, proven design (over 40,000 in operation)
  • Full bore unobstructed material flow
  • Cuts through moving or static material columns
  • Forms pressure tight seal when closed
  • Pressures up to 430 PSI
  • Wide range of valve sizes: 2” to 20”
  • Temperatures up to 840ºF
