The Clyde Bergemann Delta Ducon
Vacuum/Pressure Ash Transfer System is the
solution selected by many plants to convey
their fly ash dry. As power plants are
demanded to reduce their water usage and
minimize or eliminate their ash storage
ponds, a growing need is presented to
convert existing water powered fly ash
systems into dry conveying and storage
systems.
Clyde Bergemann Delta Ducon has the
experience and technology required to
convert existing OEM wet fly ash systems to
completely dry collection systems. This will
totally eliminate the need and use of water
and ash ponds.
As part of the dry ash conversion, Clyde
Bergemann Delta Ducon has also upgraded the
entire fly ash control system providing the
latest technology in ash handling logic. In
addition, plants have also benefited from
the sale of the dry fly ash into cement and
building industry.
In most plants, fly ash is vacuumed from
beneath collection hoppers. The motive air
for these existing vacuum systems is
provided by a water powered venturi. The
Vacuum/Pressure Ash Transfer System
eliminates the need of the water powered
venturi by providing the motive air and
vacuum via a mechanical vacuum blower.
With the Vacuum/Pressure Ash Transfer
System, ash is diverted into a dry
collector/filter where it is separated from
the vacuum conveying air stream.
As with many plant retrofits, finding a
nearby location for a new dry ash storage
silo can be an issue.
The Vacuum/Pressure Ash Transfer System
transfers the ash collected by the vacuum
system into a pressure transport line that
will transport the ash to the storage point
no matter how far away the ash silo is
placed.
